Great Art from Japan

It’s love at first sight! Tenmyouya Hisashi from Japan has a very special style of illustration, mixing traditional Japanese style with Western learnings and influences from Hip Hop. He used to work as an Art Director at a record company but now is running his own show as a freelance artist.

Kyle Ross

Kyle Ross from Scotland shows some awesome hand skills with these drawings. It’s a great reminder to do more work with pen and paper when I see art like this. Thanks Kyle! ;)

Liquor Beirão Premium

This great design for Liquor Beirão Premium is a limited edition of only 1000 units (a great collector’s item!). The liquor is one of the most popular and traditional brands in Portugal and this proposal comes from the desire of surprising the market. NTGJ is behind the design.

Christopher Conn Askew

Christopher Conn Askew is a former tattoo artist from Hollywood who changed his canvas from skin to paper in 2006. He uses primarily watercolor, graphite, ink, gouache and gold leaf. These are some of his fantastic work. I truly love the use of colours in his paintings. You can see more of his art in his portfolio.

The Last Exorcism

It’s not everyday I see a poster for a movie that catches my attention. This one does. I might not be a fan of the typography but the artwork itself is in my opinion very nice. But then again, I’m a sucker for the “dirty” dark design!

Disturbed: Asylum

Disturbed Asylum

One of my favorite bands, Disturbed, are about to release their fifth studio album called Asylum on August 31st. I was really blown away by the artwork made by Raymond Swanland and I can’t wait to see some more of his work for Disturbed! Great work Raymond!

Back to reality

After spending about a month in South East Asia, I’m now back to reality and ready for some creative work. The trip was great! I caught up with some old friends, made some new ones along the way and got really inspired by everything around me during my stay in Asia. So for everyone who wondered why my blog hasn’t been updated in a while – now you know!

Solitude – The Revival

A while ago, my good friend and talented designer Christian Lindberg and I got the chance to create the artwork and identity for the Swedish metal band Solitude. Not only that, we also did some posters for the release party, new t-shirts and the backdrop for the live shows. Many late hours, too many cups of coffee, some sweat and tears (of joy!), this is the result! And worth telling, my mom is so proud of me since I didn’t include a skull for once! In other words, next project probably will have at least two skulls.

Radio Obligato gets a new look

Radio Obligato new logo

A while ago I helped Radio Obligato with their new identity. Radio Obligato is a kind of independent record label slash party fixer that focuses on vinyl records, tasteful Spotify playlists & events. Above you can see the old and new logo. I’m currently working on a design for a brand new website. Stay tuned for some more rock n’ roll!

What’s not to love about this image. Skulls. Evil dogs. The reaper. A crazy horse. Just plain lovely! Great work by Ars Thanea!
