Saurians Renaissance

Irina Vinnik stunned me today when I saw her incredible calendar for 2011. The attention to details and use of imagination blows me away.
Pendulum by Dave Kinsey
December 1, 2010

He does it again! Another fantastic artwork by no other than Dave Kinsey called Pendulum. I was about to head over to the shop and buy me a copy, but unfortunately (for me) it is already sold out. Typical…
Limited Edition
November 2, 2010
I just wrapped up the design for a Limited Edition wine packaging and I’m pretty happy with the result! I spent quite some time on the type treatments trying to make it similar to the wine bottles I designed previous, but at the same time a bit different. You can see the result here below!

Back from Vietnam
October 28, 2010
I just got back from a great and inspiring trip in Vietnam. I got the chance to see some of the lovely Paradise as well as the dark depressing side from the War and its victims. Horrible – but I’m happy I got a chance to see it with my own eyes and experience it with my own eyes. The trip also gave me lots of energy and inspiration and I’m just getting back my mindset to create new creative goodies. Thank you Vietnam!
Up up and away
October 10, 2010
I know, it’s been quiet with my posts now for a while. No excuse but things have been busy! I’ve been caught up in different exciting projects and tried not to get too caught up and miss out on my social life, and that can from time to time be tricky.
Anyway, a couple of days ago I decided to find a free space and squeeze in my ideas on my new portfolio – so I started sketching and I came pretty far. The foundation is there, all I need to do now is to actually build it! When it’s done I’ll also show some new design I’ve been working on for the last couple of weeks.
Stay tuned for more! I will be posting some teasers of new and upcoming things in a near future.
Great Art from Japan
September 3, 2010

It’s love at first sight! Tenmyouya Hisashi from Japan has a very special style of illustration, mixing traditional Japanese style with Western learnings and influences from Hip Hop. He used to work as an Art Director at a record company but now is running his own show as a freelance artist.
Kyle Ross

Kyle Ross from Scotland shows some awesome hand skills with these drawings. It’s a great reminder to do more work with pen and paper when I see art like this. Thanks Kyle! ;)
Liquor Beirão Premium
August 24, 2010

This great design for Liquor Beirão Premium is a limited edition of only 1000 units (a great collector’s item!). The liquor is one of the most popular and traditional brands in Portugal and this proposal comes from the desire of surprising the market. NTGJ is behind the design.
Christopher Conn Askew
August 18, 2010

Christopher Conn Askew is a former tattoo artist from Hollywood who changed his canvas from skin to paper in 2006. He uses primarily watercolor, graphite, ink, gouache and gold leaf. These are some of his fantastic work. I truly love the use of colours in his paintings. You can see more of his art in his portfolio.
The Last Exorcism
August 17, 2010

It’s not everyday I see a poster for a movie that catches my attention. This one does. I might not be a fan of the typography but the artwork itself is in my opinion very nice. But then again, I’m a sucker for the “dirty” dark design!
